We finally got our act together and recorded episode 22. Unfortunately Bol got stuck in traffic, so it was just Red Ironfist and myself. As always we ran a bit long (nearly an hour show folks, sorry about that). It is the first episode that is hosted by Red and he did a great job.

We discuss the game Neverwinter Nights 2. We talk about the classes, races and a bit about the game play. We go into the Dungeons & Dragons rule set, and compare it to other games.

Hope you enjoy the show.

Hope the episode was worth the wait.

This week Red Iron Fist joined us as we resurrected the "random banter" type episodes. We discussed a wide range of topics and had a little more than an hour worht of audio.

This morning I sat down to edit ti only to find out that my audio had been recorded double. Causing a funky reverb type thing. Completely useless :s

So unfortunalty we won't have a show this week either....

We recorded our episode as always last Friday and it was a good show. Too bad the audio is so shagged I can't make anything form it. So unfortunatly there won't be a show this week either... Hopefully next weeek the podcast gods will be more favourable to the show...

Unfortunatly we need to inform you of another week of no show. This week Bol needed to go to England for most of the week. He will be back tomorrow (Saturday) but as it's my gf's birthday, I won't be around to record a show. We might be able to squeeze one in on Monday/Tuesday but so far we have no plans to do this, so assume the next show will be next Friday's one.

I know how annoyig it is if a podcast you listen too keeps being canceled. And rest assured we'll try and cut these no-shows down in future. to keep you all informed I'll tell you some of the shows we have planned in the near future:

  1. More in the "Creating webistes series". Unfortunatly for these there is no time frame due to Red Iron Fist's busy schedule
  2. The security series. 3 show's we have definately planned in this series will be:
    1. Phishing: what is it? How do is recognize it? etc.
    2. Passwords: ebtter password policies. Suggestions on how to use/thnk of passwords
    3. Deleting data securely: these days people trade old harddisks, cellphones etc on Ebay. This show will explain how to securely remvoe the data of such devices so that "the bad guys" don't get your data
  3. Switching to Mac. The (currently) last episode in our switching too series.
  4. Digital Photography: Another episode with Red, so unfortunatly no time on this one
  5. Gadget Mania: an episode on some well kow gadgets and how/why we got addicted to them
I hope these topics draw your interst. If not... send us an email at lowleveltech@lowleveltech.net for suggestions/requests.

thanx

Due to a few things we can't record the show this week. Bol's plans and my work prevent us from having the time to sit down and record.

This weeks topic (get into podcasting) will move back a few weeks. Next week we have Red Iron Fist coming back to join us, so we can't just move everything back one week.

We promise to let you know the revised schedule soon :)

Sorry for the week off folks..

I went to edit the audio today and found that the recording is corrupt. I tried fixing it but it's severly screwed. Needless to say I'm hacked off with this and can't be bothered re-recording the show today and then editing the new audio.

So no show this week folks. Next week we'll be back. Not sure if we'll re-record this weeks topic or of we skip ahead to episode 15 and call Episode 14 the lost episode...

We are joined this week by RedIronFist as we discuss switching your internet browser to Mozilla Firefox. We discuss the steps needed to switch (from download, past install, by initial setup, to daily use). We touch on the reasons Mozilla states to switch, and we explain our our reasons for switching. We also discuss our favorite add ons to the browser, and some of the drawbacks of switching away from Internet Explorer.

Unfortunatly we lost some of the audio as the connection died mid way through. So certain bits might sound a bit funny where I connected the two sound files.

Another random banter episode. this time we didn't manage to hook up with any guests, and as such we tried something new. We discuss the game of World of Warcraft as we play it. It might not be the best show ever, but it was an experiment we wanted to try. There is some good info on starting in WoW in here, but it is in basis a random banter episode...

We use the Avenue Q song "The Internet is for Porn" as our closing theme. Look at YourTube for the movie made from this with WoW characters.

Last night we noticed some odd behavior on the site, I grabbed a quick backup and then had to head to bed. This mornign I was greated by a site destroyed :(

Not quite sure what is wrong, but as my personal blog suffered a same fate I am guessing we had a not so nice visitor...

Anyways until I can fix the site I've redirected the domain here, so you can all still get the podcast and read how things areg going with the fixing....

Hope to have the main site back soon, but the next week is a busy one so not sure if I can get it sorted before my break...
